Super Room 2ers of the Week

This week Rachael, Kirstin, and William did incredibly well. Rachael received a Principal's Award for her awesome work with her different maths strategies. Kirstin and William have both been showing great responsibility around the classroom. Well done you three!!

Dojo chapter three:the power of yet

In this chapter of class dojo Katie didn't understand a volcano project in science but was to shy to ask for help. Then mojo came and said " hey Katie guess what I couldn't do my project so I asked Bruno for help and now we made a great big volcano. Katie asked if he was shy but he said no all He did was think I could not do it YET. After the video was over Mrs Varcoe asked us what the video means by saying I thought I could not do it YET?

The impossible question

We didn't know what number it was so we just picked 4,8 and 12 and we got to work and found out that 4+8+12=24 and we could devide that into 4 groups and that would add up to 6 so we found out that the smallest table can seat 4 people and the middle table can seat 8 people and the biggest table can seat 12 people.  It was hard working together but we aventually got the answer.  We also found that answer because the text said that the biggest table could seat 3 times the amount of the smallest table and 4 times  3=12 .

Basic facts

Today we had a different kind of basic facts. It was a activity when there are four basic numbers( e.g 3 5 2 6) that you have to add,subtract, divide, or multiplie to reach a 2 digit number. Today's 2 digit number was 36. We had about 7 ways to work it out!

Web conference with room 1

Today we did a web conference (Skype) with room 1. We had a  really good first go but we we're a bit nervous. All of us worked together as a team and as a familly. The jobs were writers, reaserchers, talkers, note takers. When room1 gives us a question the reaserchers check their books for information and gives it to the writers who make it into pharagraphs. We all did great! That was fun.

My Adobe Voice

For homework I made a Adobe voice and I came first place!! My question was what is the healthiest fruit? And this took a very long time to make but I think it was worth it!

Super Room 2ers of the Week

This week, the Super Room 2ers were Ranay, 'Ofa, and Thao. Ranay receives his Principal's Award for his perseverance with the splitting strategy during maths. 'Ofa and Thao worked so well during the day that they impressed the reliever. Well done you three!

We are showing you Rana and Thao's show not tell sentences. Try and guess both Thao and  Ranas emtions. We were learning about inferring. So we wrote our own sentences to get our readers to make and inference.

In the weekend my family and I did an I movie trailer for my partnership homework.  We spent all Sunday doing this but I had so much fun filming it and I wonder how long it would take to do an I movie? Dojo chapter 2:The magic of mistakes

Ms Varcoe showed us another dojo chapter and this is what we thought.It was about mistakes and if you make a mistakes just keep tring and don't give up.When you fail you'll get the hang of mistakes,because the more mistakes you do the better you get at the ting your doing.These ideas are what we thought.

Create Your Own Monster

Hey Room 2, here is the order form for the ClassDojo monsters competition that we are entering. Remember, you NEED to show your design process - that means you need to be writing down what you like about your design and what you want to improve before you move on to the next design. This will help the judges decide if you have really thought about your monster! You also need to colour it in, so if you need to come in early and use the colouring pencils, go for it! 

This is due back to me on the WEDNESDAY the 9th. If you bring it to me by then, I will send it off in a pack to the judges!!

Good luck, don't forget to get creative, but also to keep it simple enough to be made into an animation easily!

Super Room 2ers of the Week

This week, the Super Room 2ers were Rana, Isaac, and Arcadya. Rana received his Principal's Award for his excellent work in maths - he has shown that he understands his own learning and he knows when he needs extra help or practice. Arcadya and Isaac both got their virtues for showing responsibility in the classroom. Isaac has been very responsible from his first day in the class, and Arcadya has shown a big improvement in her behaviour in class. Well done you three!

Rana's birthday

Today it's my birthday. I'm going to restaurant with my dad and my uncle and cousins.on Saturday me and my  cousins are going to laser tag and tinpin bowling and the cinemas to watch deadpool and ride along 2. When we get home we will be having a huge  feast and pudding and after that I'll be opening up my presents .

Go Noodle

Go Noodle is about a game for exercising, it's a bit like just dance but animated. You get to choose a monster and give them muscles and they'll be taller it only happens when you do 10 Go Noodles.On the 1st of March we maxed our first monster flappy tucker. We do running, dancing, brain teasers, and exercises. It's fun!

Dojo chapter 1:A secret about the brain.

We watched a video about a little monster called Mojo. He was stuck on a math equation. The video about your brain is a muscle and the more you learn the stronger it gets. We learnt that not everyone can be smart but it is possible that everyone can be smart. Also we learnt that if you give up you might not get what it means or might not know you might not achieve an thing and if you don't give you might achieve something. Kirstin's Show Not Tell Sentences - CHALLENGE

1. I am jumping on my bed , a smile on my face, almost crying I keep jumping up and down on my bed,

2. my eyes are not focused I flopped onto my bed , head aching, heart beating slowly inside my chest.
3. mouth open , eyes wide, crying a little , smiling faces all around me and yet I still do not move,an untrusting look on my face 

4. GO AWAY! I shouted in my bedroom to my sisters as they approached my bedroom door , my fists were clenched tightly together my eyes red, my face as read as the velvet sunset that strikes the sky every evening like lightning.
